THE QUESTIONS THAT USUALLY COME NEXT
Answers to common questions about getting started, what we provide and running your own Grout Grouch business.
No. You may already own a tile, remodeling or handyman business, or you may be preparing to establish one. The first conversation is about your experience, your plans and whether your area is available. Your own properly formed and insured company must be in place before launch.
Possibly. An existing tile, remodeling or handyman business can be a good starting point, but Grout Grouch is not intended as a casual extra service added to an unrelated operation. It is designed for someone who wants to personally represent the brand and build a focused ceramic tile maintenance business.
Yes. We provide remote training and ongoing assistance with repair techniques, products and customer questions. Previous tile experience is helpful but not required. You should be comfortable using tools and doing careful, detailed work. You remain responsible for your company’s work and business decisions.
We’re looking for hands-on owners who plan to perform the service work themselves, either working alone or alongside a helper. Grout Grouch is built around an owner who knows the customers, takes pride in the workmanship, and stays directly involved in the business. We are not seeking owners who plan to hire employees or subcontractors to handle all the work from the start. If your needs change after you’ve established your business, we can discuss having an employee take on more of the service work.
Call us with the area you want to serve. We will review current Grout Grouch advertising commitments and tell you whether that local area is available. An area is not reserved until a written agreement is completed.
Before launch, you’ll need your company, required licenses and insurance, business phone service, tools, materials and branded work apparel. Your service vehicle must have an approved, professionally installed Grout Grouch wrap. We provide a specific tools and materials shopping list, prepare your artwork and help arrange vehicle wrapping and printing. You approve the details and pay the vendors directly.
No. We build and maintain a professional local marketing presence, but no one can honestly promise how many customers will call or how much work you will receive. Results depend on your local market, advertising budget, availability and how customers respond to your work.
Yes. You will receive the full Trademark License Agreement before signing. It explains the term, renewal, fees, brand rights, responsibilities and what happens if the relationship ends. You will have time to review it and ask questions before making a decision.
Yes. Once we’ve spoken and you’re seriously considering Grout Grouch, we can help arrange a conversation with an owner currently using the brand, subject to that owner’s permission and availability.
We have a straightforward conversation about your experience, the area you want to serve and what you are looking to build. There is no obligation. If it appears to make sense for both sides, we explain the next steps and provide the written information for you to review.
